  • Re: Attendances holding up well

This thread like many on here has turned in to 6 pages of waffle. If we’d have done this, if we’d have done that. It’s just gobbledeegook. The plain and simple fact, when it comes to Cardiff City attendances is we have a very fickle fan base. In the City itself and the surrounding areas.
When we are doing well the crowds come.
If we’d have started this season poorly and were in the bottom 3rd of the division the attendance would be poor.
It’s not exclusive to our fanbase. Even though the City and surrounding areas are a large catchment area, the interest just isn’t there when the clubs fortunes are in a bad way.

Yes, agreed that's a big factor too

You've spent half of this thread agreeing with me while telling me I'm wrong.

In another thread, you suggested that my brain is wired differently to yours. I'm just thankful for small mercies.

As for Bolton, are you daring to suggest that a club which has had higher attendances than us for the last three seasons (two of which they spent in League One while we were in the Championship) are just 'pretty moderate'? If so, stop talking Cardiff City down!

It would be a novelty, as a lot haven't played us for years, we have a great stadium in a great City with loads for them to see and do over a weekend, and we were a Premier League club not that long ago.

As I said the other day, why is it you take every single subject so literally, are you wired differently. ( I guess you must have given it some consideration to mention it again )

Remind me not to get into any particular topic with you again.

I prefer to see a nice steady, sustainable increase season on season.

Barry-Murphy is playing great, entertaining football. If people come for the first time, a few more are likely to stay. It's not just success now, it's success and good football and a decent day out.

That's definitely a factor for fans of other League One teams visiting the CCS, but some people were suggesting a few weeks ago that playing Cardiff City at home was the biggest game most League One clubs have had in years. They were seemingly ignoring the fact that the likes of Birmingham, Derby, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland have played at this level in the very recent past.

Yes, fair enough, we are a decent club but certainly not massive.

The fact that we are top of the League, have had a good cup run, and are talked about very highly by most pundits must also be a bit of a draw.

It was TWGL1. He doesn't have a short fuse. He's just wired differently. Allegedly.

What are we expecting for Boxing Day?

I’ve no idea what Exeter’s travelling support is like but I’m guessing it’s measured in the hundreds not thousands.

I’m guessing around the 22k number.
