Seems likely, can only remember Bradford, Plymouth and was it Huddersfield? bringing good numbers.

Couple of others have brought better than I expected mind.

Think overall the city support will have been better than last season, especially considering we don't have the two home derbies to bolster the average.

Hard to tell at this stage.

I haven't got the away followings for the last two games, but up to and including Mansfield they were as follows:

      1,119 v Peterborough
      369 v Rotherham
      3,032 v Plymouth
      2,087 v Bradford
      158 v Burton Albion
      1,033 v Leyton Orient
      2,298 v Reading
      1,344 v Mansfield

The full list so far is as follows:

        19,615 v Peterborough
        17,555 v Rotherham
        21,813 v Plymouth
        22,132 v Bradford
        15,813 v Burton Albion
        18,528 v Leyton Orient
        20,363 v Reading
        18,174 v Mansfield
        16,048 v Huddersfield
        18,934 v Doncaster

The top five averages in League One are as follows:

        21,853 - Bolton Wanderers
        20,588 - Bradford City
        18,898 - Cardiff City
        16,906 - Huddersfield Town
        15,577 - Plymouth Argyle

So, City’s average for 2025/26 is currently down by 446 on last season’s average when the team was sat at the bottom of the Championship (19,344). Not bad by any means, but perhaps not quite as good as it should be either.
I have no evidence to back this up, bit I'm pretty sure that historically, certainly when we are doing well, our attendances pick up after the Christmas break.

I'd say that on Tuesday (again with no evidence to back up), the 30k home fans had all probably attended at least one match this season, so the plan has to be to get them back over Christmas and New Year.

It's been a bit of a disappointment that our attendances aren't increasing. We are top of the league, winning games and those games are great entertainment.

Reckon they will if we keep this form up. People possibly had to choose between Doncaster and Chelsea being this time of year. Averaging over 20k in tier 3 is pretty decent after the last few years of dross.

              Re: Attendances holding up well

I can remember people predicting they'd drop to 12-14k following relegation, so it's great to see they've held up well.

I wonder if the club sold many half season tickets to people who wanted to guarantee a Chelsea ticket

Someone feel free to correct my maths, but without the Bristol and Swansea games last season we averaged 18,850 for the 21 other home games.

Also this is just a guess but I’d be interested to see the numbers. I reckon almost all clubs see a rise in attendance in the back half of the season. Better weather, half STs as Christmas presents, perceived more important games.

It's almost as if a club's average attendance drops if you remove their biggest crowds from the equation.

I'd say that would probably depend on when the games that are perceived as the biggest occur within a season.

For instance, during the second half of last season we played Swansea and Bristol at home, but in 2023/24 we played both of those games in the first half of the season.

We don’t have local derbies this season which will boost attendances the same way.

Swansea, and to a lesser extent Bristol, draw in fairweather and casual fans the same way Chelsea did the other night. If we’re talking about averages, then those 2 games are outliers. Our next home crowd was 7k smaller after Swansea, 6k smaller after Bristol.

Take those two games out and our crowds are pretty much identical this season and last, which isn’t bad considering some of the predicted doom and gloom.

I know what you're saying and agree to a fair degree, but in point of fact the Bristol attendance was 22,433 last season, whereas we had 22,132 for Bradford this season. The Bristol 'derby' is an odd one - some years it seems to attract significantly larger than average attendances, but other years it doesn't. I remember looking through a list of the Bristol crowds a while back when people were talking about which was the bigger derby, and of course it was the Swansea game by a distance.

What was the average attendance at the same stage last season ?

Home fans only is higher than last season at the moment

How many season tickets were sold? I only see the view from the cameras. The Canton looks good, the Ninian looks OK and the Grange End looks dismal. What's the capacity without the red seats? 27,000? So 7500 empty blue seats = about 28%. Sounds about right I suppose.
