I'm used to your angry and abusive rants that never answer questions put to you and always attack a strawman, but I think this takes the biscuit.

This is about an elected councillor talking about the slitting of throats in a speech.

Now when he was arrested I said it was "mental to be talking about slitting throats and so many cheering".

I've looked at the video again. Of those you can see, there are 21 people and I counted 11 clapping/whooping. Now to me, that is shocking given what he said, and half of a group for people supporting those words is mental.

I am very happy to offer the concession that perhaps they didn't fully understand what he said (an acknowledgment you would never make) and I'll repeat that again, but nonetheless, it absolutely is mental to hear it.

I've heard a few inflammatory speeches in my time, I have never heard a UK politician say that.

Basically the stuff you have spent several years moaning about (and mysteriously stopped a month ago!).

The country is not in a great way and that creates a climate where sparks will create riots. It doesn't justify it in anyway but it does partly explain it.

They talked about it on news night last night - I'm not sure if you watched it but it was very interesting.

Larry Elliot - one of the few people left at the guardian with much sanity is talking about it here too, so that should give you an idea.

I'd agree with that. However despicable and disgusting some people's actions and behaviours, it can't be ignored that there are reasons why lower end economic class choose to attack and blame those who are probably in a worse position than them. It's not as simple as people from other countries coming here, it's more about the political classes and the Media stoking the flames of racism over the last 20 years. Austerity, people becoming poorer etc. what we are seeing is a direct consequence of 14 years of Tory rule and a piss weak opposition. Glad we agree on something Jim.
